S\u00f6z konusu arg\u00fcmanda s\u00fcrecin, permafrostun eridi\u011fi b\u00f6lgelerde ortaya \u00e7\u0131kan, metanla kabarc\u0131klanan ve ate\u015fe verilebilen termokarstlara, yani g\u00f6llere yol a\u00e7t\u0131\u011f\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcl\u00fcyordu.<\/p>\n<p>Fakat bu arg\u00fcman patlayan kraterlerin neden bu kadar&nbsp;\u201cyerel\u201d&nbsp;oldu\u011funu a\u00e7\u0131klam\u0131yor.<\/p>\n<p>\u015eu ana kadar bu kraterlerden yaln\u0131zca sekiz tane tespit edildi ve hepsi \u00e7ok spesifik bir b\u00f6lgede yer al\u0131yor: Rusya&#8217;n\u0131n kuzeyinde, Sibirya&#8217;n\u0131n bat\u0131s\u0131nda, Yamal ve Gydan yar\u0131madalar\u0131nda&#8230; Buna kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k&nbsp;\u201cpatlayan g\u00f6ller\u201d&nbsp;ise Kanada da dahil olmak \u00fczere permafrostun bulundu\u011fu \u00e7ok \u00e7e\u015fitli b\u00f6lgelerde g\u00f6r\u00fclebiliyor.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Hellevang ve meslekta\u015flar\u0131 ba\u015fka bir mekanizman\u0131n daha \u00e7ukurlar\u0131n olu\u015fumunda rol oynad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 \u00f6ne s\u00fcr\u00fcyor:&nbsp;Bir t\u00fcr jeolojik faydan s\u0131zan s\u0131cak do\u011fal gaz, donmu\u015f toprak tabakas\u0131n\u0131n alt\u0131nda birikiyor ve permafrostu a\u015fa\u011f\u0131dan \u0131s\u0131t\u0131yor.<\/p>\n<p>Bu s\u00fcre\u00e7te s\u0131cak gaz bulutlar\u0131, permafrostu alttan eritmesine yard\u0131mc\u0131 olurken, bu durum permafrostu zay\u0131flat\u0131yor ve \u00e7\u00f6kme olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 ciddi bi\u00e7imde art\u0131r\u0131yor. Prof. Hellevang \u015f\u00f6yle ekliyor:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Bu patlama ancak permafrostun k\u0131r\u0131lacak kadar ince ve zay\u0131f olmas\u0131 durumunda meydana gelebilir.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Y\u00fckselen s\u0131cakl\u0131klar ayn\u0131 zamanda permafrostun \u00fcst katman\u0131n\u0131 da eritmekte. Bu, gaz\u0131n aniden serbest kalmas\u0131 i\u00e7in m\u00fckemmel ko\u015fullar\u0131 yarat\u0131yor ve bas\u0131n\u00e7 alt\u0131ndaki gaz\u0131n neden oldu\u011fu bir patlamay\u0131 veya \u201cmekanik \u00e7\u00f6kmeyi\u201d tetikliyor.
